THE GRANDFATHER COUNCIL OF WAITAHA

Grandfather Eagle watches from on high...

WHO WE ARE

Our tribal names have varied and changed over the many thousands of years that we have journeyed on this planet of Papatuanuku. We know who we are, and our spirit name is held inside of our Teaching School.

We are known in other Nations and Tribes: as the Water Carriers, the Water Bearers, The Waterkeepers, The Water Scientists, The Peace Makers of Lemuria.

Yes, we are all of these names for our role in this time dimension is to Care for the Fire, the Water, the Earth, the Sky, the Spirit and especially so the Humanities.

WHERE WE ARE FROM

we are said to have come from a distant star group called in our language, Te Whetu Irawaru, or The Dragon Dog Star, and in your language that I am writing in; The Ancient Star Systems of Sirius.

WHERE WE ARE GOING TO AND WITH WHO.

In our beginnings, the collection, of remnants from Lemuria, moved along the ancient power boundaries of the lands that remained above the seas, after the deluge that brought about the sundering of Communities and their fabulous Cities, only dreamed of in faraway times and places.

These are the remaining pictures graphically given to us by our Grandfathers and Grandmothers through the teaching schools known as Wananga. These, Teaching Schools were conducted inside of caves and inside overhangs in the limestone escarpments of New Zealand.

These escarpments were considered our Natural Libraries and the caves were our Universities that contain delicately drawn references that remain the secrets of the Wananga, and Teachers of Waitaha.

Many of these sacred sites, were in this modern time inundated with the building of hydro-electricity water storage facilities along our high country braided river systems. especially so in the Waitaki River Catchment Area. Prior to the flooding, many of the pieces taken from the cave walls were relocated into our secret recesses in the mountains.

It has been told to us the avid student grandchildren, that we are going from this dimension of time; back to our original state of Wairua. Mai tenei wa, ki te wahi wairua.

A state of being, not able to be translated into this language, but for the continuity of these writings, we accept the concept of the word spirit. Which goes only a part of the way towards capturing the total concept of Wairua.
